The FAMEX 5545 Japanese saw belongs to the Japanese Kataba saws. Kataba saws are extremely popular in Japan and are often used in carpentry. This Japanese saw is equipped with a high-quality, non-slip handle. It has a coarse tooth configuration and cuts through wood very quickly. The saw is particularly well-suited for tasks such as gardening work.
The Pull-cut System:
Unlike European saws, the cuts are made by pulling the saw, which requires less force and results in cleaner and more precise cuts. The very thin saw blade prevents the saw from getting stuck in the wood, offering the user greater control.
The Saw Blade:
The teeth on this Japanese saw are quite coarse. The coarser the teeth of a Japanese saw, the more aggressively it cuts, allowing for quick cuts through wood. Compared to European saws, the blade is much thinner and more flexible, allowing for highly precise, clean, and flush cuts. The blade is made from high-quality carbon steel (68-71 HRC) and has a chrome-plated surface. The electronically impulse-hardened teeth ensure a longer service life.
Special Teeth:
The "SHARK" tooth design with 3 cutting edges is extremely sharp. The saw's teeth are set at 12 teeth per inch. The coarse teeth make the saw very aggressive, allowing it to cut through the workpiece in no time. This coarser tooth configuration is not recommended for hard woods, as there is a risk of the teeth getting stuck behind the wood fibers.
